Both reels are made from aerospace grade aluminium and simply feel superb in the hand. The Monarch runs extremely smoothly and spins for what seems an eternity - a truly "free running" reel. Perfect for fast or slow rivers but also not out of place in small lakes for close in fishing (Very fun indeed on this reel)
